Rally DetailWe begin with early-bird activities sponsored by the Dothan "Wiregrass" Chapter on Wednesday, May 12th Look for guided rides to local points of interest as well as other interesting activities.Thursday, May 13th, we kick-off the rally at Harley-Davidson of Dothan with bike games, off-bike games, tech talks by Harley-Davidson factory representatives plus entertainment. We will conduct opening ceremonies at the dealership complete with awards for the Dothan games, then adjourn to Dothan's downtown entertainment district. Dothan is quite proud of what they have done to breath new life into their downtown area and the downtown merchants are looking forward to showcasing their progress by hosting our Harley Owners Group Sweet Home Alabama, Southern Tour. Reserved Harley-Davidson parking will be provided as well as shuttle service between local hotels and the entertainment district. Break the mold! On Friday morning Harley-Davidson of Dothan is hosting a pancake breakfast party to fuel up our members as we set up for the run to Montgomery. Goodness! ... Are we up to three days like this? No break! Once you reach Harley-Davidson of Montgomery we go right into the bike games and off bike games. The games will follow each other regardless of the time shown on the schedule, so be ready to ride! A Harley-Davidson factory representative will present another tech talk while the off bike games are in play. At this writing, food and entertainment will be provided for your pleasure at Harley-Davidson of Montgomery. We will be holding a mid-rally ceremony to announce winners of the day's competition. Saturday morning it's kick-stands up for the run to Eastern Shore Harley-Davidson in Daphne, Alabama. Again we will provide suggested tracks to enhance your Sweet Home Alabama, Southern Tour experience. Keep stepping folks, the games start as soon as you pull into Eastern Shore Harley-Davidson! Here we are sponsoring a H.O.G. Town Hall Meeting designed to bring you up to date on happenings in the world of Harley-Davidson and H.O.G. Food and entertainment will be provided along with closing ceremonies. You are welcome to stay and visit following the closing ceremonies but please be aware that our Lower Dauphin merchants are planning an end of rally party just for our Sweet Home Alabama, Southern Tour participants. If you enjoyed our 2008 Poker Walk you are going to love what these merchants have in mind this round! Let's talk about games: We will be hosting three levels of game for this rally so pick your preferred level of competition. Top Gun competition is designed for those who feel their riding skills are well above average. This competition will become increasingly difficult as you ride through the rally, so be prepared for a seriously challenging event. Top prize for Top Gun is $1,000. Does that make your cheese bind? Better sharpen that skill set! Judging the bike games will be by Ride Like a Pro. You are encouraged to check them out at ridelikeapro.com Bike games are those games you can find in our H.O.G. Chapter Manual; those that are designed to be pure, unadulterated fun. Look for a different set of games at each of our three sites. Sorry - we can't offer a $1,000 top prize for the bike games but we can guarantee you will have fun and the prizes will be unique. The local chapters at the three sites are providing carnival style off-bike games for all who would like to just plain have fun.
